Homeless man gets six months’ jail over cocaine

A homeless man was on Friday sentenced to a six-month stay in jail after he pleaded guilty to having cocaine in his possession.

Tony Singh, 29, who had no fixed place of abode, appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in a Georgetown court, where the charge was read to him.

He admitted that on August 10, at Bourda Street, he had 3.9 grammes of cocaine in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
