Health Ministry clerk charged with causing death of Lusignan pedestrian

A Ministry of Health clerk was last Friday charged with causing the death of 53-year-old Prahalad Sawh of Lusignan, East Coast Demerara (ECD), who he struck while riding his motorcycle along the Lusignan Public Road.

Leon Lewis, 31, of Annandale, ECD, appeared before Sparendaam Magistrate Roshelle Liverpool and he pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

It is alleged that Lewis, on August 15, 2022, at Lusignan Public Road, drove motorcycle CL 4502 in manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of Sawh.
