Young widow remains stable after deadly Bath road accident

Viroshni Persaud, also known as ‘Roshni’, 19, the young bride who was left widowed after Tuesday’s collision at Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice, remains in a stable condition at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.

Her father, Gobin Persaud told Stabroek News that his daughter’s condition was stable and that she was “doing okay.”

Her late husband, Beeshan Dhoray, also known as ‘Lako’, 23, of Queens, New York and Persaud, of Lot 88 Canefield Settlement, East Canje Berbice, who wedded according to Hindu rights on Sunday, left their Canje home Tuesday morning to head to Georgetown to sign their marriage certificate.
