The Georgetown Football Club (GFC) was founded by Scottish national, Alexander Russell, in December 1902. The Scotsman who arrived in British Guiana in 1889, was the club’s first president. A popular tournament, the Russell Memorial Cup, was played annually in his honour.

Today, Stabroek Sport salutes the men that had the honour of leading this prestigious organisation in its early stages.
