Taxi driver to serve two years over firearm, ammo

A taxi driver will now have to serve two years behind bars after he pleaded guilty to two charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. 

William Ramsey, 38, of ‘B’ Field, Sophia, Georgetown, was yesterday taken before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that Ramsey, on August 22 at Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, had in his possession, a .38 revolver without being the holder of a firearm licence.
