Rampaul, Seales engineer TKR win over Warriors

BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – New ball fast bowling pair Ravi Rampaul and Jayden Seales produced key bursts to set up Trinbago Knight Riders’ 47-run win over Guyana Amazon Warriors in the fifth match of the Men’s Sixty.

With TKR defending 95 at Warner Park, the 37-year-old Rampaul (2-6) and the 20-year-old Seales (2-10) snatched two wickets apiece to send Amazon Warriors tumbling to 48 all out at the start of the ninth over.

Heinrich Klaasen, a 31-year-old South African right-hander, struck 25 from 19 balls with three fours but no other batsman reached double figures.

Earlier, opener Tion Webster top-scored with 27 from 22 balls while fellow Trinidadian Terrance Hinds chipped in with a nine-ball 23 as TKR rallied to 95 for four from their ten overs.

Webster belted four fours in a 46-run opening stand with New Zealand’s Tim Seifert (16) before Hinds put on 38 for the fourth wicket with all-rounder Andre Russell who finished on 14 not out with a four and a six.

Fast bowler Odean Smith claimed two for 11, both wickets those of openers Webster and Seifer in the sixth over.
