Forty-six families who have been squatting at Cameron Dam, West Bank Demerara for decades have been allocated lands in Lust-en-Rust, according to the Central Planning and Housing Authority (CHPA).

At a meeting earlier this year with the families, the Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal committed to seeing the relocation process for the families to the end, a release from the CHPA said.

Cameron Dam has been earmarked for road networking and other infrastructure development and as such the relocation was necessary.
