Sophia welder remanded on armed robbery charge

A 23-year-old welder was yesterday remanded to prison after being charged with armed robbery.

Isaiah Daniels, of Lot 485 ‘A’ Field, Sophia, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he denied the charge that was brought against him.

It is alleged that Daniels, on July 31, at A-Wen-9 supermarket on Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown, while in the company of another, and while armed with a gun, robbed Christopher Hintzel of one 12-gauge shotgun with six live rounds of matching ammunition, all valued at $225,000, being the property of Bhojeshwarie Mohan.
