Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill yesterday met with contractors prior to the signing and official handover of contracts by Permanent Secretary, Vladim Persaud and his team for works in Buxton.

A release from the ministry said that Edghill introduced Senior Engineer (for bridges) at the Ministry of Public Works, Sherod Parkinson, who he stated will provide guidance to the contractors, to ensure work is done according to the specification outlined in the contract.

“He would be left in charge of supervising, holding your hands so to speak engineering wise, to make sure you get the work done, not just according to your idea, but according to the specification of proper engineering…So, the Ministry is making available to you an Engineer to give you valuable advice, to give you instructions, to ensure we get these bridges done, value for money.”
