Alado adds President’s Cup win to resume after Guyana Cup triumph

Alado captured an emphatic gate-to-pole victory at the Rising Sun Turf Club in the feature one-mile event of the President’s Cup yesterday, justifying the favourite tag given at the start of the race. On a cool Sunday afternoon at the packed venue, the dark-bay colt sent turfites into a frenzy as he galloped across the finish line about eight lengths ahead of six other race horses.

Sent off as the betting favourite, Alado took full command of the race after the first furlong and left the field in its rear view, never letting up as the lead increased with every powerful stride.

The duo of horse and jockey, Colin Ross flew down the well prepared bone-dry track at a break-neck pace, showing elite speed that bodes well for the upcoming horse race meets in the 592.
