With the ongoing distribution of government cash grants, real time audits are being conducted by the Audit Office, according to Auditor General Deodat Sharma.

Sharma made the disclosure on Monday when he presented the Auditor General’s report for the 2021 public accounts to Speaker of the National Assembly Manzoor Nadir.

The Department of Public Information (DPI) reported Sharma as saying that in addition to regular audits, his office’s team of auditors were engaged in “real time audits,” of several cash grant distributions, including the ‘Because We Care’, Children Living with Disabilities, and the hinterland and riverine villages’ cash grants.
