Ganesh Choonilall, the driver who allegedly struck down 63-year-old Ameer Ali, known as ‘Greens Boy’, along the Adventure Public Road on the Essequibo Coast and then fled, was on Monday remanded to prison on two charges.
The 35-year-old hire car driver, of Airy Hall, Essequibo Coast, was slapped with two charges when he appeared via Zoom before Magistrate Crystal Lambert at the Charity Magistrate’s Court.
Choonilall pleaded not guilty to the charges of failure to stop at an accident scene and failure to render assistance to the victim.
