Star cyclist Jamual John and ace runner Cleveland Thomas earned the winner’s spoils when Kaieteur Attack Racing and Team United hosted the ‘Fireworks’ Golden Mile and criterium event yesterday.

The nation’s best bikers and road runners took centre stage outside Base Camp Ayanganna where a fusion of cycling and athletics races were staged, much to the excitement of the spectators that witnessed the events on the tree-lined streets.

John, fresh off a win in the Victor Macedo Road Race, showed his prowess on the criterium circuit, besting the likes of Romello Crawford and Briton John who joined him on the podium after 40 minutes of racing.
