Police in Berbice registered a major breakthrough over the weekend after they arrested a logger with narcotics on Angoy’s Avenue who was wanted for the 2010 murder of Cleveland Hetemeyer.
Hetemeyer of Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam was shot and killed during an armed robbery about 90 miles up the Canje River, Berbice on November 4, 2010.
Police had said that Hetemeyer along with three other workers were approached by two armed suspects who demanded their boat and engine. Hetemeyer refused and was shot, while the others ran away, the police had said. The perpetrators then escaped with the boat and engine.
