Rose Hall man chopped while reclaiming bicycle

A Corentyne man is now a patient in a serious condition at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after he was attacked and chopped about his body on Friday afternoon while attempting to reclaim his bicycle.

Commander of Region Six Senior Superintendent Shivpersaud Bacchus yesterday confirmed that the suspect in the attack was arrested.

According to information gathered by this newspaper, Lawrence Rodrigues, 56, a labourer of Rose Hall, Corentyne loaned his bicycle and pressure pot to the suspect, 26, a cane harvester, also of Rose Hall.
