Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud has written the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of social media platforms, Facebook and Twitter asking that false maps of Guyana be removed.
The Department of Public Information said that Persaud’s correspondence comes in light of a renewed disinformation campaign being waged against Guyana by a number of Spanish-language social media accounts claiming this country’s territory by publishing false maps.
