David Deonath, the first Lusignan golfer to win an overseas tournament

Top Professional golfer attached to the lusignan Golf Club David Deonath playing in the Dollop Pro/Am golf tournament inPoint a Pierre, South Trinidad in May 1976 out played a team of 80 golfers including Canadians to take the first prize of US $650.

Deonath did the 36 whole course at Pointe- A- Pierre in 143 strokes and finished ahead of Robert Mackennon by 2 strokes with Carlton Faustin in 3 spot. Later with 3 Trinidad players joining him in a foursome he rallied the team to third place against top class opposition.
