Two vendors arrested after gun, ammo found in shoulder bag

Two persons were arrested by the police after they were found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm yesterday.

In a statement, the police said that Melissa Dundas, a 33-year-old vendor of Stevedore Housing Scheme and Anthony Mosley, a 45-year-old vendor of Queen Street, South Cummingsburg were in a taxi which was flagged down by Police ranks on Mandela Avenue. The duo, who were seated in the back seat, were asked to exit the taxi. The driver was also asked to exit the vehicle which was then searched but nothing of evidential value was found.
