Woman accused of bid to smuggle cocaine in religious items granted bail

Lisa Ramnarine

Months after she was charged with attempting to smuggle a quantity of cocaine hidden in religious items, 23-year-old Lisa Ramnarine was yesterday granted $350,000 bail.

When the matter was called before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Courts, Ramnarine’s attorney, Bernard DaSilva renewed his application for bail.

Ramnarine was granted bail on the condition that she reports to the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) twice weekly and lodges her passport.
