Thirty-three-year-old Troy Chapman who was caught on camera raping a three-year-old toddler while she slept was yesterday handed a life sentence by Justice Sandil Kissoon who in denouncing the abhorrence of the act, said that the sentence needed to reflect the gravity of the sex offender’s depravity.
In his sentencing remarks, the Judge in a stern reprimand to Chapman underscored the sacred and significant responsibility which he said all adults have in ensuring that children are cared for and protected.
Instead, he told an expressionless Chapman “You went to the home and into her mother’s bedroom where she was asleep and engaged in this horrific, depraved act”.
