Jaya Roopnarain, a 14-year-old from Regional Police Division #6, won the Guyana Police Force’s National Spelling Bee finals 2022 which was held on Saturday November 5, 2022.
A release from the police said that Roopnarain was competing in the Spelling Bee competition for the first time. The contest was held at the Officers’ Training Centre at Eve Leary.
Second place went to Chavelle Solomon, age 12, of Regional Police Division #2, and third place to Shakeina Dublin, age 14, of Regional Police Division #10.
