Chirstianburg/Wismar romps to GuyOil/Tradewind Tankers League C/ships

Christianburg/Wismar Secondary captain Kelvin Hintzen receives the championship trophy from Vanessa Madramuthoo, Marketing and Sales Manager (Ag) of GuyOil in the presence of teammates after they won the third GuyOil/Tradewind Tankers U18 Secondary Schools Football League championships.

Christianburg/Wismar captured the GuyOil/Tradewind Tankers U18 Secondary Schools Football League after defeating Golden Grove 3-1 in the final match of the event Sunday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

The Linden unit only needed a draw to secure the championships but romped to the title in an emphatic manner following goals from Kelvin Hintzen, Demoll Warner and Lamar Jules in the seventh, 34th and 68th minute respectively. On target in the loss was Omarion Burrowes in the 69th minute.

Christianburg/Wismar earned $500,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy after ending the league on 18 points while Golden Grove received $300,000 towards a school initiative and the respective accolade for ending in second place on 14 points.
