Army ranks lauded over work on Kaieteur Airstrip expansion

Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ranks currently working on the Kaieteur Airstrip Expansion Project have been commended by the Minister of Public Works for the job  they have done so far.

A release from the GDF said that the project which began in May 2022 is currently at the 30% completion point, with the assigned area fully cleared to allow for expansion. The release said that ranks are currently testing a more readily available explosive to hasten the completion of the blasting phase.

A team led by the Minister of Public Works,  Juan Edghill and Government Projects Engineer, Brigadier (ret’d) Gary Beaton and a team of Senior Officers took Christmas cheer to the ranks.
