Guyana in loan deal with China for major East Coast road boost

Guyana has struck a US$192m loan deal with China for a major expansion of the main East Coast roadway and four lanes on the embankment road.

Senior Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh and Guo Haiyan, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Guyana  yesterday signed a Framework Concessional Loan Agreement to the tune of US$192 Million to finance Phase II of the East Coast Road Project.

A release from the Ministry of Finance said that the signing was witnessed by Minister of Public Works  Juan Edghill and other officials of the Ministry of Finance and the Chinese Embassy.
