Winners of the National Science Fair on Friday visited the offices of SBM Offshore – the company behind the two oil extraction platforms in the Atlantic.

A release from SBM said that the winners were accompanied by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles S. Ramson on the visit to the Sheriff Street office. The release said that the  visit is aligned with the company’s focus of providing Guyanese with information on its operations and the oil and gas sector as a means of encouraging local participation in the industry.

Ramson and the winning students were given a guided tour of the office facilities which culminated with a presentation on the company’s operations, sustainability footprint via local sustainable development projects and career and training opportunities.
