New York-based media personality, Ossie Rodgers, who was captured on CCTV assaulting a Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice woman on October 9th last year has since settled the matter for $150,000 the victim confirmed yesterday.
Rodgers, who left the country following the incident last year, had said that he was provoked and that he was never detained by police as it relates to the report filed by the complainant, Kamala Devi Bharrat.
Bharrat when contacted yesterday told the Sunday Stabroek that she accepted a settlement of $150,000 since she did not want to deal with the court system. “I just leave it. I don’t want it to be an issue na more… I settled the matter and that’s okay.”
