Special constable, two others held at Versailles over gun, ammo

Three persons including a Special Constable were arrested on Friday night following the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and several rounds of ammunition in the motor car in which they were in at Versailles Public Road, West Bank Demerara.

The police yesterday said the discovery was made around 23:45 hours after a search was conducted on a white Toyota Raum motor car, bearing registration number, PNN 6297.

At the time, the 28-year-old Special Constable of Pouderoyen, WBD was the driver. There were two other occupants in the back seat of the vehicle; a 30-year-old salesman and his 22-year-old girlfriend.
