Ibrahim is new GCA President

The newly elected executives of the Georgetown Cricket Board

Former Vice-President of the Guyana Cricket Board Azad Ibrahim will lead the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) for the next two years after he was elected president on Thursday night.

Ibrahim, who served as a vice-president under outgoing president, Neil Barry Snr., was unanimously elected to the post at his home club, Muslim Youth Organisation.  Barry, who did not seek re-election, was  congratulated for a job well done and his term in office was described as “remarkable.”

Returning officer, Grantley Culbard’s job was smooth as all positions were unopposed. Former president of the GCA, Roger Harper, who served as a vice-president in the previous administration,  will take up the post of first vice-president while Everest Cricket Club’s Safraz Sheriffudeen will enter his first term as second vice-president.
