Fire razes house in Lodge

The Guyana Fire Service is currently investigating the circumstances that led to a blaze at Lot 6971 Norton Street, Lodge, Georgetown, around 12:21 am on Monday.

Water tenders and carriers from Central, West Ruimveldt, Campbell-ville, and Alberttown fire stations responded to the scene, where firefighters saw a one-storey wooden and concrete building engulfed in flames. The family of eight is currently overseas and had left the home in the care of a caretaker who was not at the premises at the time of the fire.
