Security guard falls into Demerara River, feared drowned

A security guard is feared drowned after he accidently slipped into the Demerara River early yesterday morning while performing guard duties on a vessel.

Reports are that around 4:00hrs, 27 year-old Zephyr Stanislaw who was employed by the GEB security firm was on main duty inside the vessel named “Demerara”. Another security guard from the said firm told police that he saw the man fell into the river and began to experience difficulties. An effort was made to pull him out but he had already slipped beneath the water’s surface.
