E’bo in uncomfortable position on rain-hit opening day

As the rain dominated most of the opening day first-round clash in the Guyana Cricket Board senior Inter-County four-day tournament, Essequibo closed in an uncomfortable position against the Select XI yesterday at the National Stadium, Providence.

The Cinderella County won the toss and opted to take first strike and reached 57 for three in 20.3 overs as less than two hours of play was possible.

Two balls into the second over, Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club Sylus Tyndall trapped Avinash Persaud leg before wicket with a delivery that nipped back into the left-hander without a run on the board.
