No.69 man charged with throwing stove at wife

Edward Sukhu, the man who allegedly threw a lit kerosene stove on his reputed wife during a dispute over a cellphone has since been remanded to prison after he was charged with attempted murder.

It was said that the 47-year-old Sukhu also called “Paul”, an operator of Lot 63 ‘A’, No. 69 Village Corentyne, Berbice had made his appearance on February 24th at the No. 51 Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Renita Singh who read the charge to him.

The man was not required to plead to the indictable offence which alleged that he attempted to murder 40-year-old Zeena Harripaul also known as “Lovita” at their home on February 15th. Bail was then refused and the man was remanded to the prison.
