Today is ‘D -Day for athletes registered to compete in the inaugural Jefford Classic Mile

It is game day for in excess of 200 athletes who have registered to compete in the inaugural Jefford Classic Mile, set for a 13:00hrs start in the National Park. 

The country’s top mid-distance athletes will compete for training grants, educational grants, vouchers, hampers and medals, with a special prize for the athlete who breaks the four-minute barrier in the Mile.

Organiser, Edison Jefford, told the media that athletes competing today will “have the right to be called the best one milers in Guyana while giving the corporate community, civil society and other patrons the opportunity to watch them perform.”
