Godfrey Munroe ascended to the presidency of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) by a landslide yesterday when the body held its Electoral General Meeting (EGM) at Olympic House.

Munroe defeated fellow presidential nominee and head of the Guyana Baseball League, Robin Singh, 31-4 in the race for the top post of one of the nation’s most important institutions.

Munroe, who was the sitting Vice President of the association since 2016, takes over the reigns from Kalam Juman-Yassin who was at the helm for the better part of the last three decades.
