Calvin Johnson, who along with another man, had been accused of the 2016 gunning down of Paul Rodney, had been cleared of the murder.
Johnson was discharged of the capital offence on Monday, after Justice Sandil Kissoon ruled that the prosecution had not proven all the elements to establish the charge against him.
In the circumstances, the jury was dircted by the judge to formally return a verdict of not guilty.
