Guyana men’s team went down to arch-rivals Trinidad and Tobago 1-4 in their opening match of the 16th Central and American (CAC) Games hockey tournament which started yesterday in the Dominican Republic.
It was a tough opening assignment for the Guyana squad in their Pool B fixture as Trinidad and Tobago striker Teague Marcano netted a hat-trick of goals. The defeat has put the Guyanese in a must-win situation in their next match against the Dominican Republic if they are to stay in contention in the group.
