Defending girl’s champion Kwakwani commenced their title defence on a positive note whilst Covent Garden and Vryman’s Erven recorded wins in the Boy’s U18 section when the 16th edition of the ExxonMobil sponsored National School Basketball Festival commenced yesterday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Kwakwani crushed Schools Girls Combined 23-3. Lanesha Mohammed led the rout with eight points whilst Sherel Leacock chipped in with six points and eight rebounds and Rihanna Archer registered six points and four rebounds. For the loser, Kassidy Woolford netted two points.
