The file relating to the rape accusation against Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Nigel Dharamlall is to be returned to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) since the complainant has stated that she no longer wants to pursue the case.
This is according to Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum, who informed that the file will be forwarded to the DPP on Tuesday 4th July, 2023. A No Further Action statement was given by the 16-year-old complainant in the presence of a parent and officials last week.
