Men plead guilty to aggravated robbery on Water St

Twenty-five-year-old Orlando Scott of Cummings Park, Sophia, Georgetown, and Chris McKenzie, 24, of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday where they both pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery.

It was stated that on Friday, June 23, at Water Street, Georgetown, the two men robbed Dyanand Singh of one Samsung Galaxy cellular phone valued $55,000 and $75,000 cash.

On the day in question, Singh was walking along Water Street, Georgetown, in the company of his girlfriend when both the accused approached him from behind, choked him and relieved him of the items. The robbers then escaped using a motorcycle which was parked nearby.
