The Georgetown chapter of the JOF Haynes debating competition 2023 came to a close on Thursday morning with team St. Stanislaus College emerging victorious.
Aziel Arthur from the winning team was this time around awarded the title of Best Speaker.
Opposing the moot, ‘Sexual Education should be mandatory in Secondary Schools’, the winning team outwitted the proposing North Georgetown Secondary School (NGSS) with what was described as a well-structured and excellent rebuttal. Reports are that the first speaker of the proposing team fumbled a great deal. As such, the ending of the competition saw St. Stanislaus gaining 20 points over its opponent (256-236).
