Solomon George called ‘Georgie,’ has been able to secure his release from prison over the 2016 killing of tractor operator Rampersaud Rattan, after a judge sentenced him to time-served.
At his sentencing hearing yesterday morning, High Court Judge Priya Sewnarine-Beharry noted that having spent the last nine jail years on remand, which she noted is itself a sentence; George was being freed.
An elated George was high in praise of the Court for its decision.
