The Georgetown divisional final in the Region #4 segment of the Digicel Schools Football Championship will be decided today from 17:30hrs when Dolphin Secondary opposes Excelsior Academy at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Dolphin Secondary earned their place in the championship match after defeating West Ruimveldt 2-1 in the semi-final section, whilst Excelsior bested Charlestown 4-2 on penalty kicks, after regulation time ended 1-1.
Troy Mendonca, Co-Director of the Petra Organization, the event’s coordinating entity, said, “Things have been great. We were able to complete all the regional games without any distress and we are happy about that. In Georgetown, we had a very competitive semi-finals which is good for the sport and what we have seen is that the teams that have been participating in events for the past year, have done exceedingly well and it only augurs well for the competition going forward.”
