Fire Chief, Gregory Wickham says the fire that swept through a section of the Charity Market in Region Two, three weeks ago, destroying twenty-nine stalls and injuring three firefighters, was electrical in origin.

Eleven other stalls suffered water damage as a result of firefighting.

Wickham yesterday told Stabroek News that the investigation launched by the Guyana Police Force, Fire Prevention Officers, and the Government Electrical Inspectorate, has been completed and it has been determined that the fire was electrical in origin.
