Shamal Charles, 22, a prison officer died following a hit-and-run accident on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway on Sunday evening.
The police said that the details of the driver’s identity and vehicle’s registration number are yet to be determined.
Enquiries disclosed that around 6.50 pm on Sunday, a motor car was speeding south along the roadway. It was reported that Charles ran across the road into the path of the oncoming car which struck him. Charles, it was further reported, sustained injuries to his head and about his body. The motor car drove away.
