Corriverton Mayor says vendors along roadway will not be bulldozed

After a 48-hour notice was issued to vendors who are operating along the Corriverton Public Road to move, Mayor Imran Amin on Friday gave the assurance that the stalls will not be bulldozed as was being alleged.

Amin when contacted by Stabroek News explained that the notice was issued in their attempt to better manage the vending situation there. However, he stressed that the vendors would not have been “bulldozed” from the location as was being asserted by some.

According to the Mayor, he met with the vendors prior to the notice attempting to come to a compromise and informing them that stalls are available in the markets.
