Carmel Secondary ascended the plains of immortals, defeating St Ignatius 3-1 last evening to secure the prestigious Digicel Schools Football Championships at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Although the gathering which descended on the venue was notably inclined to support the Region #9 outfit, the decibel level of the sizable gathering could certainly be heard and felt throughout the venue.
St Ignatius started the contest on the ascendency and seized the lead in the 13th minute via a Romel Ernest conversion, a left footed strike from top of the penalty box which was volleyed into the left corner.
