Carlo ‘Beast’ Evans, a 32-year-old fisherman of Lot A Rosignol Village, West Bank Berbice who was arrested on 24th August, 2023 by Guyanese police after he was extradited here by Surinamese authorities, was charged yesterday with murder in the course of or furtherance of a robbery of Rosignol businessman, Tony Bishnauth.
Evans who was detained by the Surinamese police since July 22, is alleged to have murdered Bishnauth on March 13, 2020, at Carriage Road, Rosignol, West Bank Berbice.
Evans appeared via Zoom at the Blairmont Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Magistrate Peter Hugh where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead to the charge and was remanded to prison until September 11 for statements.
