The Promenade Gardens, open to the public from its inception, is now the source of criticism on social media platform, Facebook with members of the public saying they are being denied access to the facility.
Stabroek News visited the gardens yesterday. Upon entry and after speaking with the security guard, we were informed that the garden is indeed closed to the public. However, the security guard also inquired about the intended duration of stay. After stating that it was for about an hour, we were told that although closed to the public, individuals on their lunch break are allowed to enter the gardens for no longer than 30 minutes.
