Sherod Duncan acquitted of cyber charge – legal firm

Member of Parliament Sherod Duncan has been acquitted of a charge of using his computer to humiliate and cause emotional distress.

A release yesterday from Hughes, Fields and Stoby said that on January 17th 2023, Duncan was charged with the offence of “Using a Computer System to Humiliate a Person.” The release said that the prosecution alleged that on 11th January 2022 at Diamond, East Bank Demerara, Duncan used a computer system to transmit electronic data with intent to humiliate, harass or cause substantial emotional distress to Guyana Elections Commission employee, Aneal Giddings.
