Guyana Amazon Warriors defeat Trinbago Knight Riders by six wickets

Guyana Amazon Warriors moved back to the top of the table last night after beating Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) by six wickets in match 28 of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Amazon Warriors won the toss in front of a capacity crowd at the National Stadium, Providence and inserted TKR who posted 176 for eight in their allotted 20 overs. Warriors knocked off the target of 177 with 10 balls to spare but lost four wickets along the way.

Playing with a less than full strength side, TKR lost Martin Guptill seven balls into the innings following sharp work and a direct hit from mid-on by Junior Sinclair. Mark Deyal motored to 37 from 20 balls but a back of a length delivery from Keemo Paul had him nicked off and snared sharply by Azam Khan behind the stumps. He struck right boundaries before his departure.
